A sweet vanilla fragrance used in our all over colours. Since there is a vanilla extraction crisis which has been for 5 years, we opt for Ethyl vanillin until this crisis is due and therefore not contribute to the impoverishment of natural resources of vanilla. All other formulas/shades are fragrance free. We aim to not use any fragrance at all but for this formula we wanted a hint of vanilla scent for the formula. Our Ethyl vanillin is of the highest quality and is nature identical and made from lignin (wood).

Naturally derived from Shea butter this wax ester has a light and silky soft skin feel and leaves a protecting film on the skin. It also acts as an emollient and gives our formulas a smooth consistency. An ester is a molecule of a fatty acid and a fatty alcohol combined.

Silica is a mineral found naturally in sandstone, clay, and granite. This transparent and highly absorbent and natural earth mineral is used for shine control and offers a silky smooth feeling, matte finish, as well as reduces the appearance of fine lines. It is soft to the touch, white in appearance, but almost invisible when applied to the skin.

Metals are naturally occurring substances. For cosmetic use, most are ground into powder form. We use primarily iron oxides, ultramarines and titanium dioxide without silicon, paraben preservatives or other chemical coatings for creating our shades, but when we cannot achieve the perfect high impact shade we desire, we use an extremely small amount of food-grade man made pigments. Until there is a completely natural pigment available on the market that can deliver the same colour pay off, we are using this as a substitute for now.

p-Anisic acid is found naturally in anise. It is a white crystalline solid which is insoluble in water and soluble in alcohols. It has antiseptic properties and is used as a preservative.

Our nature identical preservative potassium sorbate is developed from sorbic acid, which is naturally found in fruits and berries. This organic wax is harvested by the leaves of the Carnauba palm. During the hottest months of the year the palm tree secretes a wax as a cover to prevent dehydration. Some of the leaves of the tree are picked by hand and the wax is taken care of and filtered. Carnauba wax is hypoallergenic, moisturizing, and has emollient properties that soften and soothe the skin by reducing dryness. This organic wax is completely free of pesticides and is not treated with any chemicals. The palm trees are cultivated and the leaves are harvested later. This makes carnauba wax to a sustainable wax since the trees are allowed to grow year after year instead of being cut down at harvest. A sustainably grown wax contributes to a better environment and working conditions. With its light aroma and lustrous appearance, carnauba wax maintains precious moisture levels acting as a barrier agent between the environment and the skin.

Our Candelilla wax gives a soft, smooth texture and feel and is used to provide great shine in our formulas as well as moisturizing and protecting properties for the skin. Candelilla wax is produced from the leaves of the wild candelilla tree. Parts of the shrub are dried and then boiled in water. The wax that is excreted is collected by decantation. The untreated wax is dark brown and then filtered from impurities.

Linoleic acid also contains beta-carotene and vitamins A and D, which stimulate cell turnover.

Native to the desert, its water retention capacity makes it a perfect ingredient for the skin. Its moisturising properties help support the skin's natural ability to store moisture. It is also effective in soothing irritated skin, burns, sunburn and to help heal wounds as well as enhancing the skin's protective functions.

This extract is derived from Mexican Arnica flowers and it offers antibacterial, anti-blemish, anti-bruising, anti-dandruff, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, and emollient benefits. It is great for using on blemished skin, under eye, and over-all skin.

Our upcycled Coffee seed oil contains high levels of vitamin E, phytosterols, antioxidants and essential fatty acids. It can protect the skin from free radical damage and reduce the signs of ageing such as fine lines, wrinkles and sunspots or blemishes. It can increase levels in the production of collagen, elastin and glycosaminoglycans (GAG), along with growth factors responsible for maintaining a healthy skin. The high concentration of omega 6 essential fatty acids like linoleic acid present in Coffee seed oil, helps to retain the protective barrier on the skin that locks in moisture and prevents skin damage. Its slightly acidic pH maintains the elasticity of the skin and reduces the chance of infections.

Caprylyl glycol works as a humectant, which means it helps hydrate your skin.

This mild cleansing agent is a salt of the combination of amino acid glutamic acid and lauric acid, a fatty acid sourced from coconut oil.

Sodium stearoyl lactylate works as a surfactant/emulsifying agent.

A natural, plant-derived prebiotic ingredient that acts as a humectant to help skin absorb and retain moisture. It is a great ingredient that all skin can benefit from but it will be extremely beneficial for people with dry and/or dehydrated skin.

Xylitol is a plant-derived prebiotic sugar alcohol. It can improve skin texture and help the natural process the keratinocytes (skin cells) go through as they work their way from the lower to the upper layers to the surface.

It’s an essential oil expressed from the epicarps of the Bergamot Fruit that has anti-stress benefits and can also reduce acne symptoms.

Orange peel oil is extracted by cold pressing and can treat skin conditions such as acne, eczema and psoriasis. Sometimes, the leaves and flowers from the orange plant can be used as well.

This oil has significant antioxidant properties and is used for its wonderful scent.

Naturally found in for example coriander seed oil and it has potential benefits including an anti-inflammatory properties.

With a fresh herbal scent, derived from the oleoresin of the elemi tree, it has antiseptic and wound healing effects and may be used in the treatment of inflamed skin, as well as having anti-aging effects. It is also a good carrier for natural fragrances.

Its versatile composition allows it to treat many skin concerns, imparting its anti-inflammatory and skin conditioning actions to maintain a healthy epidermis.

This oil has a sebum regulating effect on skin, and can also be used as a perfume fixative.

Vetiver root oil, also called khus oil, is extracted from the vetiver plant. It has calming and soothing properties and can act as an insect repellant.

I can also improve skin’s elasticity and smooth the skin as well as heal dry, irritated or inflamed skin, relieve eczema, psoriasis and rashes.
